God has a plan for all of our lives. He put this ministry on my heart about a year ago. I am Sarah Grace, co-pastor of Wind Haven Ministry. The vision God has given me for this ministry is huge and amazing. We are just getting started, but God is showing me an amazing mission that is ahead.
I started this blog focusing on getting the important information out to help our readers understand and recognize abusive patterns as well as how to seek help. Now I’m preparing to move into a more detailed and God centered biblical message to help guide abuse victims to God’s plan for their lives.
Who am I? I am an abuse survivor. God has freed me from an abusive past filled with devastation and fear. He has taught me about self-control, His amazing love and grace, and how to pray for my abuser. His greatest message that has been persistent through my restoration has been simply to “be still.” As a problem solver, learning the difference in managing what I can control and letting God manage what I cannot has been a difficult lesson that eventually brought me a lot of peace. I’m still on this difficult but incredible journey God has been with me through. I’ve made mistakes and taken wrong roads. Now I want to take what I’ve learned and pass it on to others, so that they don’t have to step on the same landmines that I did.
As a believer, I will never be perfect. Every day I grow more in my spiritual walk and relationship with God. But this is the beauty of Jesus Christ and what He sacrificed for. We are all God’s children and He loves us abundantly. I will always be thankful for my scars, because without them I wouldn’t truly know who God is and how much He loves me.
A tidbit about me. I grew up in Muncie, Indiana with some pretty good parents who got divorced. My dad was an alcoholic but he was also a loving father, a computer guru, an introvert, a biker, and my biggest fan. The lessons and legacy he left the day he entered Heaven’s Gates have played an important role in my life.
My mom is an educator, independent, and hard working woman who has shown me an amazing example of strength, love, and success. She has been supportive and has helped in ways that I can never repay. I’m blessed to have a wonderful family.
I am a mother of three and love my children with every fiber of my being. I love to dance, sing, and I was a band geek. Music is a passion of mine. I am a writer and an artist. I love drawing, painting, and photography. An important part of breaking the cycle and exiting an abusive life is remembering and knowing who we are and trusting God to reveal who we are meant to be.
I look forward to serving you and sharing my experiences and life lessons in a way that can help and guide you through your personal journey and expanding our ministry to aid abused persons in the best possible ways. I pray for God’s immense love and blessings in your life today and every day and for His loving arms and protection over your household.
Please reach out to us if you are in crisis and need our help. May God bless and keep you.
With God’s love,
